According to official data, the average net monthly salary of a public employee has gone from 7,200 dirhams in 2012 to 8,287 dirhams in 2022, which represents an increase of around 15.09 percent, and this is due to annual promotions of employees and the Increases that have been approved for the benefit of State employees within the framework of social dialogue agreements.
Data issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance indicate that the spending index of public servants of the gross domestic product has presented a drop during the last ten years, with an annual rate estimated at 11.46 percent, and this participation amounted to 10.81 percent. percent in 2022. compared to 12.70 percent in 2012.
The state employee spending ratio in 2022 accounts for about 35.15 percent of the general budget and about 36.83 percent as an annual rate for the period 2012-2022.
About 90 percent of the expenses of public servants are concentrated in seven basic sectors, led by the Ministry of National Education with a share of about 38 percent, followed by the interior sector with an estimated share of 21.6 percent. percent, the two sectors that employ the most in comparison. to other sectors.
By 2022, the number of civil servants in the civil service reached about 565,000, 66 percent of whom are ranked at scale 10 and above.
