Marseille extends Moroccan loan Amin Harith

French Marseille extended the loan of Moroccan international attacking midfielder Amine Harith from German Schalke 04, the club announced on Thursday, before closing the door of the Summer Market.

Marseille explained, in a statement, that the loan includes an option to purchase the contract, without announcing the financial details.

Harith (25 years old), born in Pontoise in France, is the 12th player to be signed by Marseille this summer. Last season, in his first loan spell to Marseille, he scored 5 goals and 4 assists in 34 games.

Harith joined Nantes and together with him took his first steps in “Ligue 1” in August 2016, before signing for Schalke in the summer of 2017 for 8 million euros, where he discovered at the age of 20 the demands of “ Bundesliga”.

In the 2017-2018 season, he was chosen as the best young player in the German league, after playing 31 games in his first season, scoring 3 goals and assisting 6 decisive balls. In Germany he played 119 games, scoring 13 goals.

Harith wore the Moroccan national team shirt in 14 international matches, participated with the “Atlas Lions” in the Russia 2018 World Cup and hopes to play a major role in the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
