The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, announced today, Wednesday, the imminent holding of a ministerial meeting of the countries that have opened consulates in the southern provinces of the Kingdom.

During a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration of the Republic of Cape Verde, Roy Alberto de Figueiredo Soares, after the opening of his country’s consulate general in Dakhla, Bourita said that, in the coming months , Work would be done to “convene a meeting, either in El Ayoun or Dakhla”, including all the countries that have opened consulates in the southern provinces, to confirm this dynamic and create greater coordination between these countries.

The minister stressed that this initiative is part of the strengthening of the dynamics of opening consulates, in which King Mohammed VI highlighted in his speech on the occasion of the commemoration of the revolution of the King and the people, as part of the positive development that The issue of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom knows this.

Bourita added that the King’s statement that “about 40 percent of African countries have opened consulates in El Ayoun and Dakhla” reflects the general trend within the African continent to support Morocco’s territorial integrity and its legitimate rights over this part. of its territory.

Nasser Bourita and Roy Alberto de Figueiredo Soares presided today in Dakhla at the inauguration ceremony of the Consulate General of the Republic of Cape Verde, which affirmed its firm support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.

With this, the number of consulates that were opened in the southern provinces of the Kingdom rises to 27, distributed between the cities of Dakhla (15 consulates) and El-Ayoun (12 consulates).
