The Republic of Burundi expressed today, Sunday, its regret over the absence of Morocco at the eighth summit of the Japan-Africa Cooperation Forum (TICAD).

“We regret the absence of the Kingdom of Morocco from TICAD-8 due to the lack of consensus during the consultations that preceded these meetings,” said the President of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimi, during a plenary session on peace and security in the framework of TICAD. .

President Ndayishimi expressed his hope that such divisions would be avoided during the coming sessions, noting that the objective sought by TICAD is “to work to unify visions and to work according to approaches that serve international solidarity.”

Morocco decided not to participate in this summit, and immediately summoned its ambassador to Tunisia for consultations, following the position of this country in the framework of the “TICAD” series, which blatantly dedicated a hostile attitude towards the Kingdom of Morocco and its superior interests. .
