Tangier will host the fourth edition of the “Ivorian Film Week in Morocco” from September 18 to 24, on the sidelines of the 22nd National Film Festival, which will be held from September 16 to 24 in the same city.
A statement from the Moroccan Film Center stated on Tuesday that the organization of this fourth session is part of the strengthening of relations between Morocco and Ivory Coast, and to activate the provisions of the joint production and film exchange agreement between the Center and the National Film Office of Côte d’Ivoire, which was signed in November 2011.
According to the same source, the organization of this event, coinciding with the organization period of the National Film Festival, will allow festival attendees and African citizens residing in Tangier, especially the Ivorian community, to monitor film productions modern Ivorian, adding that it will be an occasion for Ivorian and Moroccan professionals to meet and discuss future projects of cooperation and joint production.
The statement adds that this event is part of the initiatives undertaken by Morocco for the benefit of South-South cooperation in the field of cinema, as well as its commitment to support African cinema in general, noting in this regard that Morocco has signed nine agreements of co-production and cinematographic exchanges with African countries, and jointly produced Since 1983 more than 50 African films.
The same source concluded that the program of this event will be characterized by the screening of Ivorian feature films, in the presence of a delegation of film professionals, including screenwriters, actors, journalists and official officials representing the National Film Office in Côte d’ Ivory. .
