The High Independent Authority for Elections in Tunisia announced, on Tuesday night, the final results of the constitutional referendum.
The commission said the referendum, which took place on July 25, saw support for the draft constitution by 94.6% of the votes cast.
During a press conference in Tunis, the head of the commission, Farouk Bouaskar, said that “the participation rate in the referendum is good by international standards.”
The same official also confirmed, during the appointment, that 2.8 million Tunisian voters had voted in the constitutional referendum, adding: “We want the next legislative elections in the best conditions, based on the new constitution.”
