The Marrakech-Safi Regional Directorate of Culture – Culture Sector organized, on Sunday at the Bahia Palace, in cooperation with the “Toubkal Academy for Research and Social Studies”, a day of study and poetry on the occasion of the 43 anniversary of the recovery of the Gold Valley, the Mechouar demonstration in Marrakech, the Oujda uprising, as well as the Tavogalt uprising in Berkane.
During this ceremony, which was organized under the banner “Uprisings for the Motherland and the Throne”, Rachid Shahmi, a specialist in social, religious and national history, said: “The Al-Mashour Al-Saeed rally embodied the most wonderful images of struggle, sacrifice and challenge to the conspiracy of the colonial authorities and traitors, represented in the exclusion and exile of the symbol of national sovereignty and unity, Sultan Mehmed V and the royal family in exile, and the installation of the colonial creation of Ibn Arafa.

On the purpose of this school day, Samir El Wannassi, Head of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Directorate of the Ministry of Culture in the Marrakech-Safi region, said: “Through this scientific, historical and poetic meeting, which is marked With “Uprisings for the Fatherland and the Throne”, we seek to immortalize four historical seasons that unite them.” The horizon of a common history, past, present and future, is: the recovery of the Golden Valley, and before that the Mechouar uprising in Marrakech, the Oujda uprising and the Tivogalen uprising in Berkane, as fundamental uprisings in the industry of the independence of Morocco, the current generation had to saturate itself with what was achieved to compose its historical contract.
The celebration of this anniversary, in addition to scientific conferences, was marked by patriotic poetry recitals by his uncle Rashid.
